Hammer-wielding man, accomplices sought in robbery of Ridgewood cellphone store: NYPD

Police from the 104th Precinct in Ridgewood are looking for a hammer-wielding man and his accomplices who allegedly robbed a cellphone store on Myrtle Avenue on Jan. 27.

Authorities say the perpetrators entered the Verizon store, located at 55-17 Myrtle Ave., at around 5:20 p.m. on Jan. 27. Police say the alleged ringleader brandished a hammer and threatened to strike a store employee.

The suspects proceeded to remove numerous iPhones before leaving the store in an unknown direction, police said.

The suspects were dressed in all-black clothing and wore black face masks during the robbery, according to authorities.
