Sara Cane-Stabile, loving wife and community member, passed away on Thursday, November 29 at her home in Howard Beach. She was 72 and had been fighting breast cancer for several years.
She is survived by her husband, former Councilmember Alfonso C. Stabile; her two sisters Caroline and Elizabeth; her daughter Concetta; son-in-law Brian; and five-year-old grandson Brian Jr.
“She was a great mother and wife and a strong woman. She could make even Hillary Clinton embarrassed,” said her husband. “She gave me the support I needed during my political career and reminded me every day that being a politician is about helping people no matter who they are and what party they associate with.”
The James Stephen Romanelli Funeral Home in Ozone Park handled arrangements and interment was at St. Charles Cemetery.
