The Bayside Commodores who were 7-2 during the regular season lost in the first round of the Bowl Division playoffs, 22-20, to the Tilden Educational Complex Blue Devils (8-1). The Commodores’ defense was not up to the task, allowing the Blue Devils to amass 335 yards. For the Blue Devils, quarterback Shawn Brathwaite completed 11 of 16 passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore Tyrone Harris rushed for 83 yards on nine attempts and a touchdown. Senior Farid Adenuga added 49 yards on four attempts. The Blue Devils will face the James Madison Knights (8-1) in the next round.

The John Adams Spartans (4-5), who were seeded 16th in the Championship Division, lost to the top seeded Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters (9-0) by the score of 54-6. The Spartans allowed 556 yards as Railsplitters quarterback Jessel Jones completed all eight passes he attempted for 95 yards. Senior Kareem Folkes rushed for 109 yards on nine attempts and scored three touchdowns. Sophomore Antoine Holloman Jr. rushed for 83 yards on nine attempts with a touchdown, while senior Denzel Duchenne rushed for 46 yards on two attempts and two touchdowns. The Railsplitters will next face the Thomas Jefferson Orange Wave (3-6).

The Campus Magnet Bulldogs (6-3) beat the Curtis Warriors (6-3) by a score of 14-12. For the Bulldogs quarterback Kahlik Greenwood was the reason for the victory. The quarterback completed eight of 15 passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Antoine Allen caught four passes for 69 yards and scored both touchdowns. Junior William Callender rushed for 34 yards. The Bulldogs will face the Tottenville Pirates (8-1) in the next round.

The Flushing Red Devils (5-4) lost in the first round of the playoffs by a score of 28-0 at the hands of the Boys and Girls High School Kangaroos (6-3). The Red Devils allowed 358 yards. Kangaroos’ junior Quarterback Keon Marsh led the team to victory, completing all seven passes he attempted for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Junior Richardson Derosena led the team in rushing with 101 yards on 17 attempts with a touchdown. Junior Najee Champagne added 84 yards of his own on nine attempts and a touchdown. The Kangaroos will face the Erasmus Hall Dutchman (6-3).
