Texas A&M shooter in custody

A gunman has been taking into custody near Texas A&M, the university said, with reports indicating multiple people have been shot.

Initial reports of an “active shooter” near the campus were issued at 12:29 p.m. local time (1:29 Eastern) from Texas A&M and all students and residents were urged to stay indoors. Fifteen minutes later, the university reported that the gunman was in custody.

According to CNN, law enforcement officials are among those injured during the shootout.

The shooting took place near Kyle Field, the Aggies football stadium.
