2 p.m., “Garden Book Talk” at Queens Botanical Garden. 43-50 Main Street, Flushing. 718-886-3800.

Author Barbara Paul Robinson will discuss world-known gardener, Rosemary Verey, who has advised nobles and celebrities like Prince Charles and Elton John.

3 p.m.- 8 p.m. “Grand Diwali Motorcade and Cultural Show” at Arya Spirtal Center Grounds. 104-20 133rd Street, Richmond Hill.

A program full of religious ceremonies, motorcades and various cultural performances are being held n celebration of the Hindu holiday, Diwali also known as “The Festival of Lights.”

7 p.m., “From Morocco to Veracruz” at Flushing Town Hall. 137-35 Northern Boulevard, Flushing. 718-463-7700.

Performances by Moroccan, Arab, Spanish and Mexico’s African and Amerindian traditions will show the migration of Latin Music.

Saturday, November 10 through Sunday, November 11

11 a.m.- 4 p.m., “Wildlife Weekends” at Queens County Farm Museum, 73-50 Little Neck Parkway, Floral Park. 718-347-3276.

Queens only working historical farm’s event will include animal shows, birds-of-prey, hayrides, pony rides and animal feedings. The farm’s little market allows you to buy their own wine, eggs, honey and wool. Farm admission tickets are $9.

Sunday, November 11

1 p.m., “Family Sundays” at Queens Museum of Art, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. 718-592-9700.

The museum’s new and permanent exhibitions inspire the day full of studio art, gallery tours and live music and dance performances.

Sunday, November 11 through Monday, November 12

“Artist in Residence Weekend” at The Nogouchi Museum. 9-01 33rd Road, Long Island City. 718-204-7088.

Paul Discoe, Japanese builder, will demonstrate artist Noguchi’s art process and tools on Saturday while on Sunday he will host a discussion.

Wednesday, November 14

7 p.m., “Surreal Machines” at Sculpture Center, 44-19 Purves Street, Long Island City. 718-361-1750.

Center’s curator Ruba Katrib will moderate a panel discussion about the impact of technology in the historical avant-garde and contemporary parallels.

Saturday, November 17

1 p.m. “Civil War Roundtable” at Greater Astoria Historical Society, 35-20 Broadway, Long Island City. 718-278-0700.

A panel discussion on the bloodiest war in U.S. history will be lead by former and current presidents of the Civil War Round Table of New York. Tickets are $5.
