Three decades of gaming have come to an end in the Bay Terrace Shopping Center.
Peter Pan Games has served northeast Queens as one of the last arcades in the area for 30 years, but closed its doors for good. The 212-93 26th Ave. arcade on the upper level of the Bay Terrace Shopping Center, once known for its colorful display of games like “Dance Dance Revolution” and “Pac-Man,” was reduced to a vacant storefront in late June.
A spokeswoman for Cord Meyer Development, which rents out the location, said the owner, who could not be reached, chose not to renew the lease. Most of the space’s games were moved to Tri-County Flea Market in Levittown, L.I.
It was one of the final options for northeast Queens gamers as a number of other hot spots throughout the borough have dwindled over the years, with College Point’s Smiles Entertainment being one of the more recent arcades to close its doors. Middle Village’s Funtopia and Ridgewood’s Kids Fun House have also remained open as other arcade options in Queens.
