Northeast Queens’ City Councilman Peter Koo (D-Flushing) won a second term Tuesday night, beating out three others vying for the 20th District seat.

Unofficial results from the Associated Pres showed Koo on top of the four-way race with 81.1 percent of the vote with 55 percent of precincts reporting, beating out Green Party candidate Evergreen Choi, Jobs and Education candidate Martha Flores-Vazquez and Republican Sunny Hahn.

Flores-Vazquez came in second of the four with 9.9 percent, while Hahn and Chou rounded out the bottom two candidates with 5.6 percent and 3.5 percent of the vote, respectively, the preliminary results showed.

Koo was first elected to the seat in 2009 as a Republican, representing Flushing, Queensboro Hill, Mitchell Gardens, Auburndale and Whitestone. He switched to the Democratic Party in January 2012 and spent his time in the Council serving on various committees, including Aging, Land Use, Small Business, Transportation and Youth Services. He led the pack in fund-raising throughout the campaign and was a major favorite for re-election.
