Taxi driver killed in Richmond Hill crash with parked cars: NYPD

A Kew Gardens resident driving a yellow cab was killed after his vehicle struck two parked cars on a Richmond Hill street Friday afternoon, police said,

Ved Wadhwa, 56, had been heading southbound on 118th Street near 95th Avenue at about 3:40 p.m. when his taxi veered to the left, striking a parked car and then to the right, colliding with another vehicle, the NYPD said.

Emergency responders were called to the scene, which is up the block from the Sikh Cultural Society in Richmond Hill, and took Wadhwa to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to cops.

An investigation into the accident was ongoing, police said.
