Trinidadian smuggled 7 pounds of cocaine: Feds

JAMAICA — Customs police arrested a Trinidadian traveler last month who allegedly tried to smuggle more than 7 pounds of cocaine inside packages of frozen meat.

Agents arrested Yudishtir Maharaj March 20 after they found 7.35 pounds of the white stuff packed inside packages of frozen meat, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.

The agency said Maharaj was turned over to Homeland Security investigators to face narcotics smuggling charges.
