A woman was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer in Sunnyside on Wednesday morning.

A 34-year-old woman died Wednesday morning after being struck by a tractor-trailer on a Sunnyside street, according to authorities.

Police received a 911 call at 8:45 a.m. this morning after a woman was found at the intersection of 56th Road and 48th Street.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 56-year-old man, was traveling westbound on 56th Road and was making a right turn on 48th Street when he struck the bicyclist, cops said.

The victim suffered severe head and body trauma and was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 9:19 a.m.

Authorities are waiting to release her identity pending family notification.

The driver was arrested at the scene and charges are pending.
