Boyfriend sought after Jamaica woman found dead in bathtub with burns on body

Police are looking for the boyfriend of a Jamaica woman who was found dead Saturday in her own bathtub with burns on her body.

Officers from the 103rd Precinct found 28-year-old Miriam Velez-Samayoa unconscious and unresponsive inside her 90th Avenue apartment at 4:04 a.m. Saturday. EMS responding to the location pronounced her dead at the scene.

The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing, according to authorities.

Authorities said on Monday that Velez-Samayoa’s death has been ruled a homicide.

Police are looking for the deceased woman’s boyfriend—Carlos Leon, aka Carlos Alvarado—to interview him about the incident.
