The Bridges at Whitestone development about to break ground

Yes, it is happening … and it is doing so to the satisfaction of residents, local officials and developers alike. “The Bridges at Whitestone” is breaking ground on Friday, Nov. 20, at 9 a.m., signaling one of the biggest real estate events in the history of Whitestone, if not Queens. Named after the spectacular water views encompassing the area’s two landmark bridges, The Bridges at Whitestone will bring Whitestone to the heights of such hot areas as LIC and Astoria. It is the largest high-end, single-family development currently under construction in the borough.

State Senator Tony Avella echoed the enthusiasm of many Whitestone residents: “I’m glad that the development of the former Cresthaven Country Club into residential homes is moving ahead,” he said. “From developer to architect, there has been an unwavering commitment to respect the uniform character of the surrounding community. The single-family brick homes constructed at this site will be a tremendous asset for Whitestone and residents will be relieved to find that the beautiful aesthetic of their neighborhood has been preserved.”

The builder and developer of this prestigious project is Queens native Tim O’Sullivan of O’Sullivan Builders & Developers, one of the most respected builders in the area. As part of a family business with more than 50 years of experience, Tim has been recognized for his fine residential developments in both Queens and Long Island. He has garnered many accolades, including the Queens Chamber of Commerce’s “Excellence in Construction Award” for 2008 and 2009 and Wantagh Chamber of Commerce’s “Beautification Award” in 2013.

“It’s rare for Whitestone to see responsible development that adheres to the context of the community,” said Councilman Paul Vallone, another staunch supporter of the project. “The soon-to-be-unveiled ‘Bridges at Whitestone,’ however, promises to add to the residential qualities that make Whitestone such a great place to live. I thank O’Sullivan Builders & Developers for respecting the character of this proud community and I look forward to the completion of this development.”

Designed by renowned architect Frank Petruso, the homes that will make up The Bridges at Whitestone will range in size from 2,000 to 3,760 square feet, giving Petruso and his expert team ample room to be creative and take full advantage of the breathtaking water views. These one-family detached dream homes, priced between $1.628 million and just over $2 million, also feature top-of-the line finishes, all brick construction, covered patios and finished basements. And The Bridges is located within School District 25, which is consistently ranked among the top school districts in New York City. This fact makes Whitestone one of the borough’s most sought-after neighborhoods.

Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty is the development’s exclusive Sales and Marketing team. Patricia Moroney and Donna Rubertone, who work out of the Manhasset and Queens offices, will be in charge of sales, while the organization’s award-wining Marketing and Technology group, led by SVP James P. Retz, will be handling the marketing. According to Daniel Gale Sotheby’s President and CEO, Patricia J. Petersen, “This highly focused team approach creates a customized plan that integrates sales and marketing for optimum results.”

Bringing Daniel Gale’s team on to the project was a natural choice for developer Tim O’Sullivan. “Daniel Gale has always impressed us with their professionalism. We trust them and they work hard – like we do. Plus, we like that whale logo.”
