Brooklyn Boulders Queensbridge will hold a soft opening today to showcase its new climbing facility and community center in Long Island City.

Located at 23-10 41st Ave., the 25,000-square-foot space occupies two floors in the new Q41 apartment complex. Facility hours are  from 3 to 10 p.m. from Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends. Soft opening prices are $10 for a day pass, $20 for a day pass with a full gear kit and $40 for Learn The Ropes classes.

The center was scheduled to open in the summer, but permit delays forced the owners to push back the opening date.

In addition to rock climbing terrain, the space will feature fitness equipment, a weight room, a yoga studio, event spaces and an art gallery. The owners will also open a co-working space in the near future, aiming “to break up the monotony of being chained to a desk, incorporating physical movement to a workspace in order to stimulate creativity,” according to a press release.

Patrons will also receive complimentary personal training consultations in a floor dedicated to weight training, cardio fitness, obstacle race training and strength training. The closed yoga studio will offer classes such as capoeira and acroyoga exclusively to members, and classes will be led by local professionals.

“Brooklyn Boulders Queensbridge is a dream of ours that’s been four years in the making,” cofounder Lance Pinn said in a statement. “We’re excited to finally open our doors to our unique climbing, fitness, arts and events centered facility and see the community grow in Long Island City.”

Pinn also plans to include a cafe and retail space.

A “friendsgiving special” from Nov. 27 through Nov. 30 will allow people who have never climbed at BKB to use the facility for free during Black Friday weekend.

The grand opening will be held on Dec. 10  from 4 to 7 p.m., with local vendors, live music, and workshops to celebrate. Musical performances and DJs will close out the evening from 8 p.m. to midnight.
