Suspect seen starting rubbish fires on Austin Street

More fires are being set across Forest Hills.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect wanted for setting three rubbish fires on Austin Street on the night of Dec. 9.

According to police, the suspect set three rubbish fires between the hours of 11:49 p.m. and midnight: one on the side of 69-02 Austin St., one opposite of 69-30 Austin St. and in front of 68-40 Austin St.

Police said this rash of fires is not connected to the recent arson pattern in which a firebug torched residential construction sites in Forest Hills.
