Police look for person of interest in deadly hit and run

By Sadef Ali Kully

Four days after 17-year-old Ovidio Jaramillo was struck and killed near Northern Boulevard and Junction Boulevard in a hit-and-run accident, police have released a photo of a suspect in connection with the incident.

On the night of Dec. 8, Jaramillo was attempting to cross the intersection at Junction Boulevard and Northern Boulevard when a black Toyota Camry traveling westbound on Northern Boulevard struck him, police officials said.

Police said the driver of the Toyota Camry did not remain on the scene and continued to travel on Northern Boulevard. Emergency responders took Jaramillo to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said after a video surveillance canvass of the area, the Highway Collision Investigation Squad Detectives retrieved photos of a male who got out of the passenger side moments after the Toyota Camry struck Jaramillo. Detectives would like to interview the male about the accident.
