Morning shooting in South Jamaica claims man’s life

Police continue to investigate the death of a 35-year-old man found shot on a South Jamaica block on Saturday morning.

Donald Reed of 164th Street was found by 103rd Precinct officers with gunshot wounds to his neck and torso in front of a home on Guy R. Brewer Boulevard between 107th and 108th avenues at 6:45 a.m. Saturday. Paramedics rushed Reed to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the Daily News, witnesses at the scene claimed as many as 15 shots may have been fired and two men were observed fleeing from the area moments before Reed was found shot.

The investigation is ongoing.
