19, 25-year-olds killed in alleged DWI?crash

A man has been arraigned and ordered held without bail after he lost control of his vehicle – and he admitted to police that he had been drinking.
According to the criminal complaint, Itwaru D. Deo had been driving a 2005 Volkswagen Passat at 98 miles per hour around the curved portion of the north service road of JFK?Airport when he lost control, hit a sign, then a tree, a car stopped at a red light, and finally a traffic pole, killing Adrian Ryan Persaud, 19, and Ramesh Dhanra, 25.
The DA said that Deo, who blew a .132 on a Breathalyzer, admitted that he had been drinking and that he led the scene of the accident.
He has been charged with, among others, vehicular manslaughter, aggravated vehicular homicide, manslaughter, reckless endangerment and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
