Pursuant to the ongoing investigation, police have arrested George Pautt of 42nd Avenue in Corona for pushing a 15-year-old girl onto the tracks of an approaching 7 train, police announced on March 11.

According to police, Pautt has been charged with second degree attempted murder for the March 5 incident

According to authorities, the teen was standing on the 7 train platform at the Roosevelt Avenue and 103rd Street station at 8:29 p.m. when Pautt approached her from behind and hurled her onto the tracks in front of oncoming train.

The train’s conductor saw the girl on the tracks and activated the emergency brake, police stated. The teen was able to position herself between the platform and the wheels of the train, avoiding serious or fatal injury.

Officers from the 115th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The girl was removed to Elmhurst hospital with only minor injuries.

Pautt then fled from the mezzanine area of the station toward the street area, police said.
