Get the party hats, balloons and bubbly ready! The Queens Council for the Arts (QCA) is gearing up for its 50th anniversary party, QCA’s Fab @ 50!, on Thursday, May 26.

The QCA will celebrate the cultural diversity and ever-evolving arts scene in Queens.

“Our mission is simple and straightforward: to foster and develop the arts in Queens, everywhere from Astoria and Bayside to Sunnyside, LIC and Jackson Heights. We support both various arts organizations as well as the individual artist,” explained Hoong Yee Lee Krakauer, who has been QCA executive director for 15 years. “Our job is to provide the networking, workshops and resources to develop the talent and skills of the artists that come to us. No matter what language you speak, the arts breaks down barriers. Music, painting, pottery is a universal way to communicate.”

The party is going to take place at one of the most beautiful sights in Long Island City, The LIC Landing, located at 52-10 Center Blvd., which offers breathtaking, picture-perfect views of the Manhattan skyline.

You won’t go hungry or thirsty at this party. Coffeed will be providing its delicious signature bites and snacks, while beer will flow (almost) freely courtesy of Rockaway Brewing Company.

The evening will feature a very special performance by legendary Nona Hendryx band, and DJ Rampage will be spinning some classic beats.

The tickets start at $75 and the party goes from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
