Take a delicious dive into some sushi and more at LUNA Asian Bistro & Bar in Astoria

Good food and good drinks should only make up half of your perfect date night. LUNA Asian Bistro & Bar offers all that and more with a breathtaking view of the Manhattan skyline from its rooftop seating.

The newly established Astoria hotspot, located at 32-72 Steinway St., opened its doors on Monday, June 20. Aside from serving refreshing drinks, the bar area is essential for sports fanatics who enjoy watching their favorite players from mounted flat-screen televisions. Feel free to step outside, sip some cool wine on LUNA’s comfortable rooftop couches, and be dazzled by the amazing views of the city.

Most importantly, patrons will appreciate a tasteful variety of entrees and appetizers inspired by the restaurant’s Japanese fusion. To start off with a light bite, try the crispy wonton ($14). The appetizer offers five mouthfuls of deep-fried lobster, basil and cream cheese with spicy thyme sauce. The cream cheese is rich and thick, enhancing the flavorful lobster it smothers inside.

Sushi lovers should try the popular truffle salmon sushi ($11). The sampler is pleasingly crafted with seared salmon, black tobiko and chive with a spicy lemon sauce that adds an extra tingle to your taste buds. Another sushi delight is the yellowtail jalapeño ($12) with yellowtail, jalapeño and soy yuzu sauce. The spicy kick is complemented by the soy sauce, especially when you throw in a glass of Henny Sour ($10). The cocktail blends a fruity mixture of lemon, Hennessy and St. Germain.

For your main course, try the ramen noodle ($13). This hearty meal comes with LUNA’s original wavy noodles in chicken paitan, topped with ground pork, boiled egg, scallion and nori. The chunks of chicken are tenderly cooked in the bowl of soft, warm noodles. The egg and scallion are great enhancements to the soup as well. Steak enthusiasts will love the rib-eye steak ($20) with a side of white rice or salad. Its beautiful presentation exhibits three juicy slabs of steak perfectly stacked, seasoned and drizzled with sauce.
