Suspect wanted for a grand larceny committed in a downtown Flushing mall.

One Flushing shopper was caught on tape browsing for an item that was not for sale.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying an individual who committed a grand larceny this week.

 

Authorities report that the 24-year-old victim was shopping inside Forever 21 within Skyview Center Mall at 40-24 College Point Blvd. in downtown Flushing on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 5:39 p.m. when she was followed from behind by a woman pushing a baby carriage. The woman then removed the victim’s wallet from her backpack and fled the location. The wallet contained $2,000.

There were no reported injuries. The incident was brought to the attention of the 109th Precinct.

The suspect is described as a black female with long curly black hair, approximately 40 years old, standing at 5 foot 8 inches tall and weighing 230 pounds. She was last spotted wearing a blue dress with white stripes, police said.

Authorities were able to provide a photo and surveillance footage of the suspect, which can be viewed below.
