Man with boxcutters threatens riders on No. 7

By Mark Hallum

A No. 7 train was stopped for about 20 minutes at the 62nd Street stop in Woodside early Thursday evening when a man threatened passengers with a pair of boxcutters

What started as a verbal altercation between an Asian man who appeared to be in his 50s and another rider of South Asian descent in his 20s turned violent when the younger man went from car to car wielding a pair of boxcutters in each hand.

Officers from the 104th Precinct arrived at around 5:55 p.m. and took the individual away in cuffs.

No ambulances responded to the scene.
