Police were searching for a man in connection with a strangulation incident in Flushing.

The confrontation started June 22 at around 5:30 p.m. when the suspect refused to pay for his use of the facilities at the Time Internet Café at 136-31 41 Ave., police said.

The NYPD said when a 19-year-old male employee insisted he pay, the suspect punched him in the face, knocked him down to the ground and choked him. Police said the suspect then fled the café in an unknown direction. The café employee suffered bruising and lacerations to his face and neck and was treated at the scene, the police said.

Police were describing the suspect as a male Asian, in his 20s. Police said he was last seen wearing a blue-button-down shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477)
