NYPD identifies suspect in Payne’s murder in Jamaica

Kwashan Butler is a suspect wanted in the murder of Terrence Payne, who died from a gunshot wound he sustained Aug. 18 in Jamaica, according to police.

Butler, 28, allegedly shot Payne, who was dressed in women’s clothing, at 104-46 164th St., within the confines of the 103rd Precinct, police said.

Payne, 21, was in critical condition when he arrived at Jamaica Hospital after being shot in the thigh that day, according to police.

Three days later Payne died and his death was ruled a homicide by the city medical examiner.

The police were asking for the public’s assistance in finding Butler.
