A 60-year-old man fell off the roof of an Elmhurst house to his death on Thursday morning in an apparent construction accident, police sources said.

According to police, the incident took place at 11:27 a.m. on Oct. 19 at a home on 50th Avenue between 94th Street and Junction Boulevard.

Sources familiar with the investigation said the unidentified man, a contractor, was installing solar panels on the roof of the three-story home when he suddenly fell to the ground.

Officers from the 110th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene after getting a 911 call about the incident. They found the man on the ground with severe body trauma, law enforcement sources noted.

Paramedics rushed the man to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity was withheld by police pending family notification.
