Police officers across Queens went above and beyond the call of duty over the past few weeks, as they were busy giving out Thanksgiving meals to families in need throughout Queens.

In Jackson Heights, officers from the 115th Precinct were able to hand out over 200 turkeys with help from the NYPD Community Affairs Bureau, NYPD Patrol Borough Queens North, Our Lady of Fatima Church and American Brotherhood MC.

The 103rd Precinct assisted Royal Waste Services in giving out 50 turkeys at the Housing Bridge Family Shelter. They also took part in a turkey giveaway at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jamaica.

Officers from the 102nd Precinct were also spotted helping the Queens Tabernacle Church hand out meals to families in need.

Officers in the 113th Precinct were out on the town handing out turkeys to people in the communities they serve. They also handed out turkeys and Senior Safety bags to all of the senior citizens who came to the 113th Precinct Community Council Meeting.

After collecting a room full of holiday food favorites with help from Senator Tony Avella, We Love Whitestone Civic, Holly Civic and Sky View Center Mall, the 109th Precinct hit the streets and gave out a number of Thanksgiving meals to residents of the Bland House and the New York City Housing Authority.

The families in need weren’t the only ones who got some holiday cheer. The congregation of the Bellerose Assembly of God brought 105 pies to give to the staff of the 105th Precinct.
