Man falls to his death from a sixth-story window in Rego Park in apparent accident

A 26-year-old man died falling from the sixth-floor window of a Rego Park building on Tuesday afternoon, law enforcement sources said.

According to police, at 2:55 p.m. on Jan. 23, officers from the 112th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an aided person at 62-98 Saunders St. Upon their arrival, they found 26-year-old John Davie of Kew Gardens Hills lying on the ground unconscious and unresponsive with severe trauma to the head and body.

A preliminary investigation found that Davie was fixing the sixth-floor window when he took the tragic fall.

EMS responded to the location and pronounced Davie dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
