If you find yourself making the same meals time and time again, you’re not alone. With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it’s easy to fall into a routine that’s simple and familiar.

Luckily, Great Northern Food is here to help shake up your meals and improve your cooking skills. They’re teaming up with The Brooklyn Kitchen to bring you a number of great classes that will show chefs at every skill level how to make delicious Nordic-inspired meals all throughout winter and spring this year.

Let’s say you’re hosting a dinner party during the week. We all know that trying to plan the perfect menu that will not only ‘wow’ your guests but won’t be difficult for you to execute can be a challenge. Great Northern Food’s Nordic Dinner Party class is designed to teach you how to create a weekend-calibre meal breezily on a weeknight.

The Nordic Dinner Party class will teach you to prepare a three-course Nordic-style dinner that will delight even the most persnickety eaters. Their chef will also show you how to prep the meal, knife skills, seasoning and plating tips that will blow your guests away.

Great Northern Food is also hosting classes that are sure to help spice up your meal options. During their upcoming Winter Soup classes, you’ll not only learn tips to make delicious vegetarian soups that will keep you warm and full all-season long, you’ll also learn how to take simple soup recipes to new heights with layering in spices and ingredients to build complex and delicious flavors.

Pizza-lovers will enjoy the Nordic Flatbread class. Whether you call it pizza or flatbread (as they say in Denmark), participants will learn how to make classic and whole wheat dough, different sauces and a number of classic and contemporary toppings. Great Northern Food is also hosting a Soul Food class in collaboration with Chef Charlene from the Brownsville Community Culinary Center for those who are looking to learn how to make some wholesome dishes with incredible flavors.

If baking is more of your thing, Great Northern Food also offers classes that you’re sure to love. Get a hands-on experience mixing, kneading, shaping and baking your own bread from some of the best in the business. By the end of the class, not only will you have your very own loaf of Danish rye or øland wheat bread, you’ll have the knowledge to make it at home!

Great Northern Food also offers a class for those with a sweet tooth. Learn what it takes to make a kanelsnurrer, a cinnamon swirl dessert that friends and family will love for any occasion.

All of these classes are hosted at 667 Driggs Ave. in Williamsburg. For more information or to register for classes, visit thebrooklynkitchen.com/page/great-northern-partnership.
