Detectives are still looking for two bandits who swiped a bundle from a gear shop at Elmhurst’s Queens Center Mall last month.

Law enforcement sources said the perpetrators used a key to unlock the front gate of the Zumiez shop on the shopping center’s third floor, at 90-15 Queens Blvd., at 8:12 a.m. on Jan. 22. It’s not clear how they were able to acquire a key to the gate.

Once inside, police said, the crooks breached a cash register and removed $6,132 in cash, then fled the scene. Store employees later reported the theft to the 110th Precinct.

Zumiez sells brand-name women’s and men’s apparel as well as gear used by skaters and snowboarders. No such property was removed from the store during the caper.
