Detectives are still looking for two bandits who swiped a bundle from a gear shop at Elmhurst’s Queens Center Mall last month.

Law enforcement sources said the perpetrators used a key to unlock the front gate of the Zumiez shop on the shopping center’s third floor, at 90-15 Queens Blvd., at 8:12 a.m. on Jan. 22. It’s not clear how they were able to acquire a key to the gate.

Once inside, police said, the crooks breached a cash register and removed $6,132 in cash, then fled the scene. Store employees later reported the theft to the 110th Precinct.

Zumiez sells brand-name women’s and men’s apparel as well as gear used by skaters and snowboarders. No such property was removed from the store during the caper.

110 grand larceny

The unidentified male perpetrators, shown in a wanted flier posted on the 110th Precinct’s Twitter page, were observed wearing dark-colored hooded jackets.

Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts can call the 110th Precinct Detective Squad at 718-476-9317; all calls are kept confidential.
