Video shows purse thief running after and robbing woman in a Flushing garage

Cops are looking for a man who approached a woman in a Flushing parking garage and stole her purse.

According to police, at 4:45 p.m. on March 5, a 59-year-old woman was approached from behind by an unknown man inside of a parking garage located on 41st Road near College Point Boulevard.

Security camera footage shows the man chasing the woman, then forcibly grabbing her purse off her arm; she subsequently fell to the ground. The victim suffered minor injuries to her legs and arms, but refused medical attention.

 

 

Police said the suspect took off with her purse, which contained credit cards, an Apple iPhone 6S and $400 in cash. He was last seen fleeing on foot westbound along 41st Road toward Main Street, authorities said.

Law enforcement sources described the suspect as a black man between 20 and 30 years of age, with a medium complexion, medium build, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray baseball hat, a red bubble jacket, black pants and black sneakers.
