A Jamaica woman who admitted to conspiring to hire a hitman to kill multiple witnesses that were set to testify in her boyfriend’s home invasion cases has been sentenced, prosecutors announced Thursday.
Latisha Larrymore, 33, pleaded guilty in January to second-degree conspiracy, according to Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown. She was sentenced to indeterminate term of 5 to 15 years in prison.
According to charges in the underlying case, on March 16, 2015, Larrymore’s boyfriend, Edward Leasure, then 36, was charged with committing two armed home invasions. He was arraigned before the Queens Criminal Court on March 18, 2015, on burglary, robbery, weapons possession and other charges and held in jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.
After Leasure’s arrest, between April 29, 2016, and May 12, 2016, Larrymore conspired with Eddie Marcus, who is Leasure’s father, to hire a hitman to murder the witnesses that were scheduled to testify at Leasure’s pending trial. Charges state that Marcus approached someone known to the investigation and asked them to kill multiple witnesses.
Charges also state that Marcus provided the names and addresses of the witnesses as well as a time frame within which the murders should be completed. As part of the conspiracy, Larrymore had recorded conversations with the “hitman” where she discussed the payment for his services and the means by which the murders should be carried out. Additionally, Larrymore advised the hitman that she knew someone who could sell him a gun and a silencer.
Larrymore was later arrested and told police that she received a call from Leasure, who she told police was worried about the trial witnesses, and he told her to meet with Marcus. Leasure said that Marcus had found a “lawyer” who will take care of the situation. In this situation, “lawyer” was code for “hitman.”
Larrymore also told police that the hitman $4,000 up front in payment. She told police that she told the hitman that he would receive the rest of the money when Leasure was out of jail.
On Aug. 22, 2016, Leasure pleaded guilty to second-degree conspiracy in the conspiracy to commit murder case and first-degree burglary and was sentenced to 12 to 24 years in prison on his conspiracy plea and 24 years in prison on his burglary plea. Marcus pleaded guilty to second-degree conspiracy in January 2018, and was sentenced to three to nine years in prison on Feb. 14.
