Motorcyclist dies after losing control and crashing on the Cross Island Parkway in Whitestone

A motorcyclist lost his life early on Friday morning when he crashed his ride on the Cross Island Parkway near Whitestone.

According to police, at 1:19 a.m. on June 22, officers responded to a 911 call regarding single motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the northbound side of the parkway near exit 36 (Whitestone Expressway/Whitestone Bridge). Upon their arrival, officers found a 32-year-old man lying in the roadway with trauma throughout his body.

An investigation by the NYPD Highway Division’s Collision Investigation Squad found that the man was operating a 2013 Triumph motorcycle when he failed to properly navigate a turn at the location. He then fell off the motorcycle to the ground. No other vehicles or persons were involved or affected.

Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
