Cops still looking for suspect who fatally shot a man in Richmond Hill

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in finding a suspect wanted in connection to a shooting in Richmond Hill over the weekend.

At 2:38 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, cops responded to a 911 call about a man who had been shot at 118th Street and 101st Avenue in Richmond Hill.

Officers from the 102nd Precinct found an unidentified male lying unconscious and unresponsive in front of a home on 118th Street between 101st and 103rd avenues. The man sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was withheld, pending family notification.

Law enforcement sources said that no arrests have been made and there is no known motive for the shooting. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
