Burglar cuts his way into a Jackson Heights bar and steals $60,000 in cash: cops

Police need the public’s help to find a man who stole a huge amount of cash from a Jackson Heights bar this past August.

According to police, at 8:25 a.m. on Aug. 5, an unidentified man broke into Sal Y Pimienta, located at 81-10 Roosevelt Ave., by cutting off the lock on the security gate.

Once inside, law enforcement sources said, the crook stole approximately $60,000 as well as the bar’s security video surveillance system. The suspect then fled westbound on Roosevelt Avenue.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic man in his 30s, having a light complexion, standing 6 feet tall, and weighing 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark baseball cap, white button-down shirt, blue jeans and carrying a backpack.
