Entrepreneurial women’s organization to host networking event in Queens

Women on the Rise NY will be holding their fifth annual Women on the Rise Forum & Expo on Oct. 19 and 20.

The event for entrepreneurs, business owners and other professionals will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the LaGuardia Plaza Hotel in East Elmhurst.

The expo will feature workshops, panel discussions, training sessions, food and networking events, awards and more. The event will cover topics like brand identity, finances, health and wellness, relationships and social media.

Women on the Rise will be giving $500 to $1000 grants for small businesses to selected attendees. Women attending the event will also have the opportunity to pitch new products to Lili Gil Valletta of Dreamers Ventures. Winners will have their products featured on Home Shopping Network American Dreams platform.

Stacie N.C. Grant, owner of C&G Enterprises, will be the mistress of ceremonies. She won a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Volunteer Service from the Obama Administration in 2016.

Bershan Shaw will be the keynote speaker, discussing empowerment, career development and personal goal achievement. She is the author of “URAWARRIOR: 365 Ways to Challenge You to a Better Life.”

Women on the Rise NY Inc. is a business consulting firm founded by CEO Marsha Guerrier. According to their website, their mission is to “educate and empower women to help them reach their goals personally and professionally.”
