Knife-wielding thief takes off with two bottles of liquor while robbing a Ridgewood store

Police are looking for a man who robbed a Ridgewood liquor store at knifepoint after trying to sneak bottles out of the store in his pants.

According to police, at 3:15 p.m. on Sept. 30, an unknown man entered the Stare Miastro Liquor Store, located at 55-48 Metropolitan Ave. Once inside, the suspect placed a bottle of Hennessy and a bottle of Patron in the waistband of his pants and attempted to leave the store.

When the 50-year-old male employee tried to stop the suspect from leaving, he pulled out a knife and pointed it at the employee before fleeing the store on foot. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
