The NYPD needs the public’s help in finding a man wanted in connection with an assault that occurred Sunday on a Manhattan-bound E train near the Queens Plaza station in Long Island City.

According to police, a 63-year-old Hispanic woman boarded the train Nov. 4 around 9:15 a.m. and asked a seated individual if he would move his bag to allow her to sit.

Law enforcement sources said the individual refused before standing up and punching the victim in the face, which knocked her to the ground.

Upon entering the station, authorities said, the individual exited the train and fled on foot.

Officers from the NYPD Transit Bureau and EMS units responded to the incident. The victim suffered pain and swelling but was not seriously injured; he refused medical attention, cops said.

Police described the individual as a black man in his 20s, standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 165 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hat, green hooded jacket and dark pants, according to law enforcement sources.
