Flushing Town Hall is celebrating the spirit of the season with its fifth-annual Holiday Market, the Holiday Historic House tours, and a performance from an Ecuadorian youth orchestra Dec. 9.

The Holiday Market makes gift shopping easy, featuring everything from original artwork to jewelry to paper goods. The market will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. in Flushing Town Hall’s first-floor gallery, located at 137-35 Northern Blvd. Admission is free and beverages and snacks will be available.

Among several dozen participating artists and craftspeople are: Ilana Siegel (watercolors, art prints, greeting cards); Mickie Gonzalez (paintings, decoupage jewelry, hand-painted ties); Teresa Douglas (soaps); Daria Petties (jewelry); Christina Rojas (handmade plush toys and crochet); Enrique Rouge (wood crafts); Geraldine Benfante (greeting cards and small paintings); Marly Schwartz (semi-precious and pearl jewelry); Phyllis L. Susser School (handmade jewelry and event signage by students).

The Holiday Market coincides with the annual Holiday Historic House Tour, featuring seven historic Flushing and Corona sites, including Flushing Town Hall. The Historic House Tour also runs from 1 to 5 p.m. and is run by the Queens Historical Society. A mini-bus will take visitors to selected historic houses.

Call (718) 939-0647 ext. 14 or visit www.queenshistoricalsociety.org for advance tickets and more details.

Visitors can also enjoy a 2 p.m. concert in the Flushing Town Hall theater from the Ecuadorian youth orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonica Juvenil de la Prefectura del Guayas. The group is led by maestro Manuel Campos and has traveled from Ecuador to present sounds of the Americas, including music by Gershwin, Cardenas, and Piazzolla. Tickets for the event must be purchased separately.

The Holiday Market is free with no RSVP required. Tickets to access all seven stops on the Holiday Historic House Tour are $20; $15 in advance; $5 for children under 12; free for teens.

Tickets to From Ecuador to the World are $10 and free for members, students, and teens. For more details visit www.flushingtownhall.org or by calling (718) 463-7700 x222.
