Police were searching for a suspect who allegedly smashed a bottle on a man’s head at an Elmhurst bar and cut him last month.

A 41-year-old man was inside Sabor Latino Restaurant & Bar — located at 95-35 40th Road — waiting for his girlfriend Nov. 17 at 3:40 a.m., when he was approached by an unknown man, who police say asked the victim a question. At this time, it is unknown what the suspect asked the victim, according to authorities.

The suspect proceeded to hit the victim in the head with a bottle and fled the scene, police said. The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was treated for a laceration to the forehead, according to law enforcement sources.

Anyone with information about the incident should call the 110th Precinct Detective Squad at (718) 476-9317.
