Apartment fire in Flushing leaves one woman dead: FDNY

Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found after an apartment fire in Flushing on Tuesday night.

According to authorities, at 8:49 p.m. on Dec. 11, the FDNY received a call regarding a fire at 43-32 Kissena Blvd. Apartment 1K. The FDNY deployed 12 units with over 60 FDNY and EMS personnel.

The FDNY had the fire under control by 9:32 p.m. that night. When police arrived at the scene shortly after, they found a 65-year-old woman unconscious inside the apartment.

The victim was declared dead at the scene. Her identity was withheld pending family notification.

The FDNY is investigating the cause of the fire. No arrests have been made at this time.
