Apartment fire in Flushing leaves one woman dead: FDNY

Police were investigating the death of a woman who was found after an apartment fire in Flushing Tuesday night.

The FDNY received a call Dec. 11 at 8:49 p.m. regarding a fire at 43-32 Kissena Blvd. Apartment 1K and deployed 12 units with more than 60 FDNY and EMS personnel, according to authorities.

The FDNY had the fire under control by 9:32 p.m. Tuesday night. When police arrived at the scene shortly after, they found a 65-year-old woman unconscious inside the apartment.

The victim was declared dead at the scene. Her identity was withheld pending family notification.

No arrests have been made at this time and the FDNY was investigating the cause of the fire.
