Police are investigating two robberies on a Corona street that left two men injured just days apart from each other.

According to authorities, at 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 3, a 27-year-old man was walking home in the vicinity of 104th Street and 45th Avenue when he was approached from behind by three unknown Hispanic men. One of the suspects punched the victim with a closed fist, causing the victim to fall to the ground.

Law enforcement sources said the perpetrators proceeded to kick the victim several times throughout his body and took his wallet, which contained $1,000 and his identification card, from his rear pants pocket before fleeing the scene.

The victim suffered lacerations to his left hand and refused medical attention at the scene.

The second robbery took place days later on Jan. 6. At 4:20 a.m. that morning, a 47-year-old man was walking home from a party in the vicinity of 104th Street and 45th Avenue when two unknown men approached him, pushed him to the ground and held an unknown object to the back of the victim’s head, stating, “Don’t move or I’ll kill you.”

The suspects proceeded to take the victim’s iPhone 8 Plus and his wallet, which contained credit cards and his debit card, before fleeing on foot eastbound on 45th Avenue towards 108th Street. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

The 110th Precinct tweeted that they believe the robberies may be connected and are seeking information about the incidents.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation for both robberies is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the robberies can call the 110th Precinct Detective Squad at 718-476-9317.
