Probe continues in violent South Ozone Park crash that killed two men

Police are continuing to investigate an early-morning crash in South Ozone Park that left two men dead.

According to police, at 3:29 a.m. on Jan. 27, police responded to the 911 call regarding at vehicle collision on South Conduit Avenue in the vicinity of 134th Street. Upon their arrival, officers from the 106th Precinct found an overturned 2006 Dodge Caravan mini-van at the location with two victims inside.

EMS responded to the scene and declared the the driver, who has been identified as 28-year-old Joseph Pellot of Brooklyn, and the passenger dead at the scene. The passenger’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.

A preliminary investigation found that the mini-van was eastbound on South Conduit Avenue at a high rate of speed when at 134th Street, Pellot lost control of the car and struck a light pole and tree at the location.

The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad continues to investigate the incident.
