The NYPD is looking for a man who allegedly punched a 40-year-old woman repeatedly inside a Jamaica train station over the weekend.

On Saturday, July 26, around 3:30 p.m., a 40-year-old woman began to get into an argument with an unknown man inside the Parsons/Archer-Jamaica center subway station, according to the NYPD.

The man then pushed the woman to the ground and began punching her multiple times in the face, cops said. After beating her up, the man took her purse and tossed it onto the train tracks before running off in an unknown direction, according to the police.

The woman, who suffered pain and bruising to her face and body, was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition.

The suspect is described as being in his 20s and is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, police say. He was last seen wearing a black mask, a black long-sleeved shirt and multi-colored sweatpants.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of the suspects is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at nypdcrimestoppers.com, or on Twitter @NYPDTips.
