An off-duty police officer was arrested and charged with assault after allegedly punching his wife in her Queens home earlier this week.

MD Rahman, an NYPD officer with the Patrol Borough Manhattan South, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 3, within the confines of the 107th Precinct after assaulting his wife during a domestic dispute, according to the police.

Rahman, 43, hadn’t seen his children for three months and asked his wife if he could go on a walk with them, police sources said. Rahman’s wife refused and the officer punched her in her chest, knocking her to the ground, according to the NYPD.

The wife suffered injuries to her arm, shoulder and the back of her head, cops said. She went to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.

Rahman has had three allegations of police misconduct against him in his time with the NYPD, according to the Civilian Complaint Review Board. Two of those allegations were substantiated.

In September 2018, he was found to have abused his authority while threatening a summons to a 50-year-old white man, according to the CCRB.

The investigation into the Aug. 3 assault is ongoing.
