D.A. to headline ‘Top Women’ event

The Queens Courier and Queens Business Today are bringing in a big gun for the eighth annual Top Women in Business Networking Awards Dinner.

The event, already well known for attracting the borough’s best, brightest and most influential business leaders, will this year feature Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown as “Best Man of the Year.”

“I’m flattered that The Queens Courier would honor us and in the process the talented and dedicated men and women with whom we serve,” Brown said. The Judge added that the timing of the honor, as he enters his 50th year in public service and becomes the longest-serving D.A. in Queens County history, only adds to the importance of the acknowledgement.

“Over these past 19 years we have made significant gains in reducing the level of violence in Queens County and improving the quality life of our residents,” he noted, “and The Courier has contributed greatly to making those gains possible.”

The Top Women event, which will take place Thursday, April 8 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Terrace on the Park, will honor female figures in industries ranging from finance to medicine who have demonstrated exceptional leadership within their business and local communities. The gathering will also raise money for the Queens Museum of Art.
