Police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a woman in her Elmhurst apartment.

Police are looking for a man who entered an apartment in Elmhurst and stole cash from the tenant after choking her.

The suspect entered a residential building between Elmhurst and Britton avenues on May 16 at about 3:58 p.m. He then walked into an unlocked apartment to find a 25-year-old woman inside, officials said. The suspect allegedly placed his hands around her neck and mouth and stole an undetermined amount of money before fleeing out the front door.

Police describe the suspect as a 32-year-old Asian male, standing about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, white sneakers and a gray shirt.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS or for Spanish 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
