Bourdain visits Queens, shooting at Queensbridge Houses and 8 other stories from Queens

A television debut, a shooting at the Queensbridge Houses and a historically all-boys school going co-ed were among the top 10 stories in Queens this week.

Queens residents are excited to see that the borough will get the Anthony Bourdain treatment this Sunday when the television host explores the cuisine and culture that make Queens the most diverse place in the country.

Holy Cross High School in Flushing will be a co-ed school starting in 2018 and also received a $1 million donation science, technology, robotics, engineering, arts and math (STREAM) curriculum.

Queensbridge Houses, which recently celebrated one year without a shooting, was unfortunately the scene of one this week. A 39-year-old Woodside man died as a result.
