Having completed nearly 700 miles of his 3,300-mile bicycle ride across the country benefitting the Inpatient Hospice and Palliative Care Unit of Margaret Tietz Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Andre Louis is making great progress as he nears Cedar City, Utah.
“He said he’s a little sore, but I think he’s doing well,” said Linda Spiegel, spokesperson for Margaret Tietz and Louis’ Ride for the Ages. “The opening last week at the Jewish Home in San Francisco was great.”
Rising usually before the sun — at 3 a.m. — Louis’ schedule is to ride 100 miles a day for seven days, and then rest on the eighth day.
Spiegel told The Queens Courier that Louis’ wife Susan said that he has had to adjust to the grueling physical regimen, but that he’s doing very well on his “ride of gratitude.”
