Saying he’s “ready for Colorado,” Andre Louis’ cross-country fund-raising bike ride has brought him to the Centennial State.
Hosted by the administration and staff of the Shalom Park Nursing Facility in Aurora, Louis will meet this week with personnel for dinner and a tour, and will also attend a luncheon at which he will speak to residents.
“They’ve been incredibly hospitable,” said Linda Spiegel, spokesperson for the Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
In fact, the Shalom Park facility, which also offers assisted living and senior residences, has allowed Louis and his team to live in a “patio home,” a one- or two-bedroom home, while he’s there.
Beth Israel at Shalom Park is a state-of-the-art long-term care and skilled nursing residences that accommodates 135 residents, providing a home where they live their lives with dignity, honor and respect.
The Senior Residences at Shalom Park are the first in the Rocky Mountain region to offer housing with in-home services on a fee-for-services basis.
Louis will be back on the road by the end of the week, and he will again log his 100 miles per day.
“It’s not easy country,” Spiegel said of the mountainous terrain, “but the scenery is gorgeous.”
